Guitarist Keller Williams covers a lot of ground with just 10 strings.

In fact, he handles jazz, funk, reggae and bluegrass with equal ease.

And a musician must be that diverse if he, like Williams, wants to perform with the String Cheese Incident, David Grisman, Merl Saunders, Agents of Good Roots, Ani DiFranco, and the reggae group Culture.

Greg Stewart, a local musician and concert promoter for Stewsday Productions, describes Williams' picking and strumming patterns as somewhere between Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges.

Williams will soon be going into the studio to record an album with the String Cheese Incident. But you can catch him at 10 tonight at Kosta's, 117 State St. Tickets are $5. Call 256-7839.
