Halloween / ChiTown & Watching Vegoose

So last night I dressed up like Hunter S. Thompson for Halloween. I stayed in character for a large portion of the night and was entered into two costume contests which I was finalist for. I didn't win (most likely because I was a hot girl) but I had a good time with it. I made a tape of my comments from yesterday as Hunter S. Thompson and had a good time with it. I should transcribe my banter. People kept calling me out on who I was, which I responded to "Who sent you?! How do you know me? Have you seen my lawyer!"

Anyway, I woke up this afternoon and will be hitting the road any minute to Madison for the evening. I want to see Nickel Creek play at the Orpheum. Afterwards, I'll stop by the Great Dane to see Cornmeal. I couldn't see Nickel Creek in Chicago because it was the same time as the World Series and there's no contest... I watched the game with Tim at a bar in Bridgeport... I digress.

At the moment, I'm watching Vegoose on the SBC Blue Room. Its pretty neat. I'm watching Umphrey's McGee's set and they're kickin' ass! So I'll go after their set is done. I hope Ben, Tosha, Jason, Shannon, Dave, Anthony, Andrew, Margie, Morgan, etc... etc... are having a blast! I actually got a call from Jason who is really looking forward to the moe. show later tonight and all is well!
I could just sit here and watch show after show with the soundboard feed pumping through my wireless stereo across the house, but I better be heading off! Maybe a tape will float around of the Flaming Lips & Ween performance and I'll watch that later!
Happy Halloween!

Zombie Rights Now!

We're getting close to Halloween, I know, but lets for a moment discuss a very important subject which was recently brought to my attention: Zombie Rights!
Countless Zombies are slaughtered needlessly and inhumanely each year. Either their heads are bashed in or fully decapitated, these poor creatures die a brutal second death without due process. Isn't it bad enough that they had to die a first time?
Maybe people might be against zombies without ever really getting to know them.
How do you know when you're an prolife antiZombie-ist?
Ask yourself these questions:
Do you have a knee jerk reaction to the presence of zombies?
Can you count the number of zombies you've had at your house?
If a zombie walks up to your car, do you immediately drive away?
Do you feel that being alive makes you better at certain activities than others?
Have you ever told a joke or stories about zombies portraying them in a negative light?
Maybe you identify with zombies, maybe you don't, but the point is, you never know when you might become one, so here's your chance to make a stand.
Sometime this Halloween, call a radiostation and ask for zombie rights.
Zombie's needs are simple when you think about it.
There was a Zombie Lurch (march) in Madison for Zombie rights.
Here's an interview with the organizer Maddie Greene

Unfortunately, it wasn't done during an election year. They gained alot of support while converting onlookers. According to Maddie Greene, there will be a group of zombies cheering on the Zombeatles at the High Noon's Monday night Halloween celebration. Might be a fun place to indulge in music, beer, and zombies.

The Future - Weathercast

I know I predicted this hurricane season would set records, and my focus had been on the quantity and quality of the storms, but now we need to look at the time and direction in which they come. According to my theory, at the end of hurricane season, we'll see more storms heading up the East Coast. I'm not talking about the East Coast of Florida, but I think one of these days, maybe this fall, maybe next, we're going to see a hurricane hit a major North East urban center, like New York City. Its only a matter of time.
In the meantime, remember that Nor'Easter. Expect more of a wet winter on the East Coast. You'll probably get dumped on alot this winter if you live there... sorry!

What a crazy intense game. I came home to take a nap, but the game was on and my eyes were GLUED to the screen! Now I'm sure you've heard they're the AL Central CHAMPS! What a great game!
I went to ALOT of Sox games this year! They didn't lose a single time I went to Comiskey. And of course, this is the season that they become the ALC Champs!
I grew up on the near West Side and I'm generally a fan of CHICAGO! I don't knock Cubs fans, cause they don't knock me and I live a block away from Wrigley.
Well, I can't wait to see who we're playing next!
Let me tell you about Ozzie Guillen... He's awesome. There were very few coaches who I agree with in off season trades, but that dude's got some moves! And he actually coaches his team really well. He manufactures runs instead of relying on the long ball. Ok, I'm droning on.
I have to get tix!!! I have to get tix!!!
Who wants to go with me?!
How do we get tix? What do I have to do?!?!
Who are we playing? I hope its the Yanks. I'll stay in NYC if its the Yanks and we'll go! Franklin lives close in Astoria to the field, so maybe if it all magically works out we can go to the game!?
